Though terrified on the inside, anyone would consider this woman completely together as she prepares for her first car ride since the accident.

Such a big step! [Almost] Impossible to fathom that soon she would be home in her own house to continue her strides toward her old life.

The car ride home was uneventful yet harrowing as we worked through the emotions lurking beneath the surface. A little scare when we got home as Mom had some difficulty remembering how to get up onto the deck. She had practiced it quite a bit at Stallworth, but there is nothing like the 'real thing' to stimulate detail-oriented amnesia.

After a failed attempt and a distressed panic-laden moment, Mom successfully negotiated the step and into her home.

What a joyous sight of woman and dog...I hope you both get some cookies. Snoopy swears by them.

There's a new posting from me following Pam's lovely "thank you," as I had to catch up after being in Kentucky. (Mom is 91 today and could be related to Mickey.) I live in Hendersonville, and now that Pam is home, if I can be of any help let me know. I am in Donelson at the Presbyterian Church on Lebanon Rd. whenever I have a piano lesson with Betty Polk. Let me know if I can deliver anything to you or...whatever.
In fact, I was on the way to a lesson when I heard from Kelly about the "incident" in L.A. Betty was the first person to offer me comfort. She is one of the many who have been sending good thoughts. We await further news and photos! Blessings to all, Jan (N)
